HOW TO TATTOO:

As a tattooist of 12yrs, the big question that is asked is How To Tattoo, or how do I learn to tattoo

They come to me to get there first tattoo and 99% of them get hooked, they get fascinated with the process of getting a tattoo, it looks so easy to do, a few lines here and there, they maybe Artistic and can draw and think that tattooing is just drawing but its not, they feel that they can learn how to tattoo it carnt be that hard to learn tattooing it looks so easy, and I must admit doing a tattoo is not hard, but if you want to do nice work and be a successful tattooist is another story.

To be a tattooist you need allot more than just watching a tattoo being done, How To Tattoo is a art, it is a process that you step threw, and if you do not know this and how to run your guns properly, how to apply the ink to the tattoo, from dark to light, how to use the blood so you can do some awesome shading, there is so much to learn, just getting to know what type of skin also affects the length the needle comes out, so its far to say that if you truly want to be a good tattooist one that can make a career out of tattooing , there is a big learning curb.

I started tattooing nearly 15yrs ago when tattooing was mostly male run industry and the only female tattooist that they really talked about was Tattoo Kym, I was extremely shy and my first tattoo was done on my partner, I had owned tattoo shops and that but I actually did not like working out of a tattoo shop, I could not pick and choose the hours I worked, so we built a tattoo studio in our rumpus room of our home, when we bought we had made sure we could fit it out with all the needed specifications of a tattoo shop, I worked out of my home nearly 9 yrs, I was self taught with a few tips from a friend of my husband that run a tattoo shop, but basically what I learnt was trial and error, some weeks I earned 600-800 in a week end, so it was a good career, but I did go to college a did diploma in art and a year or so off being able to teach art, I got most of my client threw word of mouth, and I did enjoy tattooing

I gave it up 4 yrs ago to start my online business , I have made allot of contacts over seas contacted manufactures of tattoo equipment and found some really fantastic tattoo equipment and supplies, if I had only known this back when I tattooed I would have made a fortune, because to buy a single use needle was about $8 threw the supplier I bought stuff off, now I can get them for $1 wow what a difference in the pricing, it was much cheaper to make your own needles, but it was very time consuming, and very boring not to mention the chemicals you had to use.

You can actually use a tattoo 3-4 times before it goes blunt, but I always use and snap the needle in front of the client, I never had any problem with health departments or any complaints about the cleanliness of my studio, I was very careful about the fact there were so many life threatening diseases that can be transferred threw tattooing, and so should you be, at one stage there had been a couple of shops been closed down by health department because they were not following criteria, some of the shops ere caught reusing inks, they would use them and once finished they would put the inks back into the ink bottle, not thinking that this ink would have blood in it from the client they just tattooed, there were a few people contracting diseases from this, it shook up the tattoo industry.

But any way there is a lot to learn how to tattoo and if your looking into how to tattoo you need to be committed to the process and learning it, if you know how to draw and use color and shading this is a big bonus, and if your artistic you can really make tattooing a career. There are other thing to consider, because the life style is not a easy one, there are long days and even longer nights, I myself have tattooed 12 hours straight with a few toilet breaks, better if your a night person, because there are not to many early mornings.

At least now if your a women you have a chance of getting a break into the industry now, compared to 15 yrs ago when I started out, there is so many more women coming into the industry, like the girls on Miami ink, back them I had to learn to tattoo on my own, it was hard and frustrating there was no help out there, but in the last couple of years there has been some fantastic learning aids, you can read about it, you can google it, and now you can watch it on youtube, and even buy video learning you to tattoo, I think this is just great for those up and coming artist that want a career in tattooing, because there is so much more information out there helping you.

I have picked some products for you to look over, which will really give you a edge on your learning, it a a superb collection giving you the very best information on how to tattoo , giving visual aids as well as written, look threw the selection I have selected for you, and you will find what you are looking for, good luck with your journey to being a good tattoo artist, look threw my website there is allot of interesting things to look at.
